INO annual science meeting was held in July 2017. Astronomers from around the country, the board of the Astronomical Society of Iran (ASI) a well as the local officials from the region where the site is being developed were present. The meeting was also attended by the public media.

Iranian National Observatory (INO) Project announced the opening of its local office in Qamu (Kamoo) in Kashan district in Isfahan province.
The collaboration between Iranian National Observatory (INO) and Isaac Newton Group (ING) on training of astronomers has been extended for another two years.
The first meeting of INO users was held at Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM). The main motivation of the meeting was to discuss the astronomical applications and observational instruments of this project.

The INO340 primary mirror has arrived in Iran on 14 of February 2015 by crossing the Baltic Sea, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. The primary mirror blank is a Zerodur glass acquired in 2010.
The INO site monitoring station has become operational in Nov 2014. The station is located around 500m to the south east of the main Gargash peak where the 3.4m Telescope is planned to be constructed.
